About
- Mission
To grow the possibilities for people to enjoy the healthy outdoor recreation and/or competitive outlet disc golf can provide in the Nahe-Glan region. - What's disc golf?
Disc golf is a sport with rules resembling traditional golf. But instead of using clubs to hit a ball in a hole, you use your arm to throw a disc (fairly similar to a Frisbee) into a disc golf basket (see below):
- Where can I play disc golf?
You can play disc golf for free year-round at DiscGolfPark Bad Sobernheim (start of October through end of April) or Mini-DiscGolfPark Bad Sobernheim (start of May through end of September). Both are nine holes and in the same location (Freizeitpark Bad Sobernheim) but during the summer, the course is shortened to holes that are a maximum of 25 meters (the Mini-DiscGolfPark) to assure safety as traffic in the park is much, much higher in warmer months.
In fall, winter, and spring, players can enjoy two sets of tees on nine "normal" holes. The shorter tees are meant for beginners, children, seniors, and warm-up rounds and offer par 3s that are 31 meters to 60 meters and a par 4 just over 80 meters. The longer tees are meant to be fun for experienced players (or ambitious beginners) and offer pars 3s that are between 61 meters and 94 meters and one par 4 at 176 meters. The longer tees also feature OB, hazards, an island hole, and a mandatory that make the course more challenging than it might appear in photos on UDisc.
You can borrow disc golf discs for free from the SportBox in the park if you don't have your own. Important: You need to have a smartphone with you to use the SportBox.
DGP Bad Sobernheim is the first disc golf course in the Bad Kreuznach district and the only public course within a radius of 50 kilometers.
If you'd like to look at more photos of DGP Bad Sobernheim or find other courses, we recommend the UDisc disc golf course directory. - Where can I buy disc golf equipment?
